Your pregnancy ultrasounds in Melun, with care and attentive listening

Welcome to my practice. As a midwife-sonographer, I perform your pregnancy ultrasounds: dating, 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester scans, as well as Down syndrome screening. I take the time to explain each image and answer your questions, so that you can go through your scan with peace of mind.

My ultrasound scans

Scans carried out with rigour and attentive listening, from early pregnancy through the third trimester.

Dating scan

Performed between 6 and 10 weeks of amenorrhea (WA) to date the pregnancy precisely and check the embryo’s vitality.

1st trimester scan

Ideally between 12 and 13 weeks of amenorrhea, when the baby is best seen: measurements, early morphology and screening if you choose.

2nd trimester scan

Around 22 weeks: detailed morphology scan of the baby, placenta and amniotic fluid.

3rd trimester scan

Around 32 weeks: growth and baby’s position.

Down syndrome screening

Approved practitioner for the nuchal translucency measurement, as part of Down syndrome screening.

Important: I only perform ultrasound scans. Monthly pregnancy follow-up (consultations, clinical exams) must be carried out by your usual midwife, your gynaecologist or your maternity unit.

To ensure continuity of your care, I work in collaboration with the Melun maternity unit and the prenatal diagnosis department at Kremlin-Bicêtre.

The content and timing of scans are adapted to each pregnancy.

Fees and reimbursement

I am a State-approved (conventionné) midwife, sector 1, with third-party payment (tiers payant) on the health insurance share.

ScanFeeReimbursedYou pay
Dating scan (6 to 10 WA)€35.6570%€10.69
Dating scan before an abortion (IVG)€35.65100%€0
1st trimester scan€87.9770%€26.39

3rd trimester scan€100.20100%€0 (100% maternity)

For the dating scan and the 1st and 2nd trimester scans, the amount you pay may be covered by your supplementary health insurance. At the 3rd trimester, as patients are already covered at 100% under maternity insurance, no payment is due thanks to third-party payment.

Patients covered by the C2S (formerly CMU-C) or by AME are welcome: they have no out-of-pocket cost, provided they present an up-to-date carte Vitale, a valid entitlement certificate or an up-to-date AME card.

Accepted payment methods: bank card, cash and cheque.

Pregnancy due date calculator

Enter a date you know: the calculator works out the other key dates.

Indicative calculation based on a 28-day cycle. It does not replace dating by ultrasound or a consultation: if in doubt, contact your midwife. WA = weeks of amenorrhea.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions I am most often asked before a first appointment.

What should I bring, and how should I prepare?

Your carte Vitale and your previous reports. A prescription is not required, except for a biometry (growth) scan. You do not need a full bladder. Please do not apply cream, oil or stretch-mark gel to your belly in the 48 hours before the exam: it affects image quality.

What if I am running late or cannot come?

If you are running late, please let the practice know by phone on 06 10 51 10 19 as soon as possible. If you cannot come, please also let us know so that the slot can be freed. If an appointment is missed without notice, booking new appointments on Doctolib may be blocked.

Can I bring someone, or my children?

Yes, you may bring one person with you, whoever you choose (partner, relative, friend…). As for children, it is best to arrange childcare to ensure the calm and concentration the exam requires. Exceptionally, if you have not been able to arrange childcare, your child may come.

“Keepsake” scans, 3D images, baby’s sex: what do you offer?

I do not offer keepsake scans: only the pregnancy follow-up and screening scans presented on this site. 3D images are only taken at the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, if the baby’s position allows it. The baby’s sex is only announced during the 2nd trimester scan.

Can my exam take longer?

It can happen. Image quality depends on several factors, such as the baby’s position or the thickness of the abdominal wall. For patients who are overweight or living with obesity, ultrasound passes less easily through the abdominal wall: the exam may then take a little longer and the images may be slightly less sharp. This is not a problem: I take the time needed to carry out the exam in the best possible conditions.

Is a transvaginal scan sometimes necessary?

Yes, in some cases. Depending on the position of the baby or the uterus, it may be helpful to complete the scan with a transvaginal approach, for example to see the embryo more closely in early pregnancy, check the cervix or locate the placenta. I always explain why I suggest it, and it is only performed with your consent.

What happens if a concern arises during the examination?

If a concern arises (for example a suspected malformation) or if a follow-up check is needed, I ask the opinion of a colleague specialised in prenatal diagnosis. I then explain the next steps of your care.

How do I get my images? May I film the exam?

Your images are given to you as prints at the end of the exam and are also available on the Medifile app. Filming, photographing or recording the examination is not permitted.

How do I get my Down syndrome (trisomy 21) screening results?

The results are sent directly to me. I can then share them with you through Doctolib.
